Wage and Benefits Ordinance - The Sacramento City Council will vote today on what has been dubbed the "big-box" ordinance, which will determine whether Sacramento will keep the mandatory Economic Impact Analysis (EIA) for stores larger than 90,000 square feet that wish to open in the city. Planning Director for the City, David Kwong, will join us to explain why the Sacramento City Planning Commission has recommended the ordinance be revised and what it means for the local economy. Eric Sunderland will also join us after yesterday's press conference at City Hall to share the views of community and political groups who oppose the revision and hope to separate the connection between "big-box" stores' charitable contributions and their role in the City Council's vote.

News Network - Stockton Tax Association declares their opposition to the November ballot measure to raise the sales tax 3/4 cent, citing irresponsible city leaders' decisions as cause enough to fight the increase. News 10 reporter Tim Daly joins News Network to discuss this new political agenda as well as Mayor Silva's sudden subdued behavior, the declining rates in violent crime in the city and many more topics today on Insight.

Winters Earthquake Festival - Earthquakes aren't usually the type of thing you center a town festival around. Of course, nobody told that to the town of Winters. The Winters Earthquake Festival commemorates a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that shook the region at 3:15 a.m. on April 19, 1892. Every brick and stone building in town was leveled either by this temblor or by another magnitude 6.4 quake which struck two days later. We're taking a moment look back at the history of the town of Winters - just outside Davis - and the devastation caused by the string of earthquakes in the late 1800s. The earthquake festival takes place the third Friday of August every year and features a number of attractions and events.

Justin Farren - After winning second place in the Planet Bluegrass Folks Festival Songwriters Competition last weekend, Sacramento singer-songwriter Justin Farren is home for a few days before heading out on tour for his newest album, "Another Bluebird Day." Released in April, this album exemplifies his "folk-pop story-time" genre with songs like "This Year I'm Going to the Snow" and "The Toad's Song." Farren will perform a selection of these songs today in studio and will be back next Saturday for a show at Naked Lounge downtown.
